drawings

Sorry for not really posting anything. I just can't bring myself to sit down and craft even though I have tons of ideas. I also want to sew for like a year now...last month I put the sewing machine on the table and I haven't touched it since.

But it's not liek I didn't do anything at all. I started drawing again and I feel bad that I neglected it for so long. Now I'm too old to get really good at it =( Still it's quite fun and I want to keep trying.

Here are a few easy drawings I did to practice PC Coloration ^^

I think I finally got the hang of it.

Neverending Story - Childlike Empress painting

Somehow I'm not really in the mood for crafting with so many not so nice stuff going on at the moment... and I'm not in the mood for christmas at all. I had really hoped that this time all would be alright but it seems it isn't meant to be.

Well, instead of crafting I'm drawing alot these days and I'm in the process to learn how to do PC Colorations and am actually showing progress at last. I thought I share a little water color practice I did the other day. It's Tami Stronach as the Childlike Empress from one of my all time favourite movies. There are lots of mistakes but it was the first time I did an portrait with watercolors so I'm still a bit proud of it.

kitty, kitty

I actually wanted to DO something today but like everyone else at the moment I caught a cold and spent the day sleeping and feeling sorry for myself. Pity meee~

To make myself feel better I thought about sharing some more photos of my cat. She is the best cat in the world <3

Videogame ATC - "B" - Berserk and Breath of Fire 2

I didn't get a rating for this one either and actually the ATC for me didn't arrive yet either. I guess the guest offices are already busy with christmas stuff.

Well, I choose a classic "Berserk". I cut the motif and the letters with a small cutter and glued it on a golden background.
The other is a character (Katt or Rinpoo) from the Snes RPG Breath of Fire 2 that I fell in love with when it came out.

Sadly, with so much time to worry about I can't really get into christmas mood even though it's my favourite season in the year.

Nintendo - Super Mario ATC

I didn't get a rating, but well..it's been so long so I post them anyway

Nothing special, nothing creative...hmm oo

Little Santa

Since today is Nikolaus-Day... here's a little Santa I made a few days ago. I actually made a bunch of them to be sold for a good cause.

They are nothing special, but people need something small and cheap to buy, too :p

Tea filter flowers

After I saw this "coffee filter flower" tutorial on craftster ( http://www.craftster.org/blog/craftster-quickies-coffee-filter-flowers/) I had to try making some myself. Since I love tiny stuff I wanted to make cute small ones =)
Instead of coffee filters I used tea filters but they worked just the same.

Here are a few I made:

They are super easy to make and look really nice, don't they? =D

Fuzzy Jelly-fish

Haven't done one in a while... So here's another jelly-fish =D

Kingdom Hearts ATC

For a Videogame ATC swap I chose Kingdom Hearts because my partner had an avatar from it. I only played the first game for like 30minutes, so I'm not really familiar with the characters. After I was nearly finished I messed up the colors and had to redo both of them. That's why they look to very rushed.

I still think they turned out okay... I guess. I like the colors at last.

Advent wreath /Adventskranz

Our advent wreath ( Adventskranz )! =D I guess it's a typical German tradition...?
My mom made the wreath and I added the candles, ribbons and so on. We also made sure not to buy anything new (except for the candles of course), but use old christmas decoration we still had from the years before.

Christmas time is my favourite time of the year <3

Kanji Inchies + ATC

The swap was for 6 Inchies depicting Kanji. I made the extra ATC because I thought it fitted the theme ^^; I made everything really fast...now I wish I took a bit more time instead of chosing quantity over quality. Since I studied Japanese as a major I should be able to write cleaner than that.
I stillkinda like them. I love the butterfly stamp that I got for 50cents. I need to use it more often!

Videogame ATC - "A" - Assassins Creed & Alundra

Since they arrived I can post them now ^^

It's so hard to guess what kind of video games a person likes if it isn't clearly stated. I mean...Mario or Tetris everyone knows, many only play sports games and a FPS of their choice, some only play new stuff others only old stuff.

Since I didn't really know I chose first Assassins Creed because it's really popular. I don't own a X-Box 360 or a PS3 so I never played it. I wanted to try out something different for the ATC and I kinda like how it turned out even though it lacks contrast and is quite boring.
I did an extra ATC to include a game I actually played. Alundra was one of the earlier PSOne games. An old-style action RPG with a nice atmosphere. The ATC didn't turn out so nice though...I dunno >_<;

Queen Isis

Still working on some Videogame ATCs...I want to send them asap! I messed up the first version though and have to redo two of them >__<

Since I don't have any crafty things to share I thought I introduce the new queen of our house. I posted photos of Isis before, but she is living with us for a month now. We love her dearly but the reason she lives with us is a very sad one.
My grandpa who loved her so much passed away and a few days later my grandma got in an accident and broke her hip. It was a big shock for all of us.

Whenever we were at my grandparents place my grandpa was sitting on the couch, Isis besides him often her head resting in his palm. He always called her "my girl" and said what a wonderful cat she is.

Hmm...I just wanted to share cute cat photos and now I got all sad again ):

She is sooo lazy, but she loves playing with the amigurumi jelly-fish.

Her favourite activity.

Poor thing can't go outside anymore. At my grandmas place she has a nice garden and here she can only look out the window.

ATC - "Pearl"

Another random hand-drawn ATC. The scan turned out bad >__<

I signed up for a few new swaps. Next are Inchies with kanji symbols and then 3 different videogame related ATC swaps. Yay~!

Shadowrun ATC

Inspired by Shadowrun. I did this some time ago but only added colors today. I messed up the background so I fixed it by making it as dark as possible.

The neck is too long but I like the cold colors...so...I guess it's okay.

black & white Inchies

My motivation and creativity is like non-existing at the moment. ): In these phases the only thing I seem to be able to do are inchies. Hmm...I should try some real zentangles next.

The Goonies cross stitch - finished with pattern

I finally got around finishing it! I only added the skulls because there was so much empty space... I still feel like there is something missing, but I consider it finished!

Detail

back side

And now on to the patterns! I used the title screen of the NES game to make it.

Here is the logo (also from the NES game). It's quite big, that's why I did not use it.

This is the smaller logo that I used on the towel. I free-styled it...it's not perfect, but it was my first :p

I know it's very simple, but it's one of my first cross-stitches. It's the first one where I bothered to use some kind of technique so that it will look good on the back, too.

Inchie Color Swap - 6 - Purple

Aaaand the last one. I tried a few different things...overall... I think I quite like them ^^;

Life's not really nice atm, so I'm not really in crafting mood. I hope I can still motivate myself to do something...

Inchie Color Swap - 5 - Blue

I like these better than the last ones :) This version with a mini-origami crane is my favourite and this time I didn't mess up the flowers with a horrible background.

Inchie Color Swap - 4 - Green

And green! I think they are my least favourite :/ I was so happy because I had four-leaved clovers but I completely messed those Inchies up.

Inchie Color Swap - 3 - Yellow

And next is yellow. I actually don't like them all that much :/ Those flowers are real ones, but they didn't look so nice after being pressed. I kidna like the turtle and penguins though. It's fun drawing cute little stuff ^^

Inchie Color Swap - 2 - Orange

The next Inchie swap. Again three Inchies for two partner...but I ended up doing twice as much. I recycled the open-up flower one and the crochet flower one. I know, I know ... the second swap and already runnign out of ideas :p
I kinda liked the mini origami-crane one...so I used that one for other colors, too.

Inchie Color Swap - 1 - Red

This is a swap from like 3 months ago. It was the first one from a small series consisting of 6 swaps (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple). I was so lame and recycled a few ideas, but now that all the swaps are over it's save for me to finally post pics.

This was the third swap I've ever done on swap-bot (the first one was the private amulet bag swap with miriam and the second swap was a simple postcard swap) so I was kinda nervous. Those were also one of the first Inchies I've ever done... I remember that I was actually kinda proud of them even though they are not that special.

Three Inchies for two partner. I thought I can't just send three Inchies so I made those ATCs to send along after studying my partners profiles. Leeloo from the movie the "Fifth Element" and a Borzoi dog.

I somehow really like the space cat one. The flowers were crocheted by me and those flowers can be opened (I used them for the other colors, too till I couldn't see them anymore ^^; )

That's how I send the Inchies. They are secured and still can be easily removed. The same for the ATCs. I only did this for the red Inchies though since I did not add ATCs for the other swaps.

I'll post the other colors the next few days ^^

One Tiny Book Swap

I'm so very, very, very glad my partner likes the book =D I was so nervous, especially after seeing all the awesome books the other swappers made. It's so much fun to see the gallery fill up.

Well...here is my book. I choose a Tim Burton-esque style and wanted to include stuff like little 3d-effects, doors to open and the like. I had the most fun with the drawings as I'm a bit more confident with drawing and it's really fun to draw in this style.

The cover looks a bit plain...but I'm really bad at drawing buildings and this was already my 4th try ^^;

Edward Scissorhands =D

Took like forever to cut them all out. I wanted the eyes to be mirrors, but it didn't work out so well :/

I saw a butterfly greeting card with this neat and easy 3d-effect. The thing here looks like it's been put together by a madman though ^^;; I should have drawn a nicer moth with more details.

This was actually the first page I decided on. There is no meaning behind it or anything... Somehow I seem to have a thing for creepy eye-thingies.

This page is even stranger ^^;; It looked so empty so I added more an more things...I just didn't plan it properly.

Another easy efect for greeting cards. Turned out better than I expected to be honest =D

The hairs took forever to draw...the flowers can be opened :)

This is from the book Coraline from Neil Gaiman. I kina like this page even though it is plain and my handwriting isn't the nicest.

And the back. I got this butterfly stamp super-cheap second-hand. The "frame" isn't glued on on the top so that other pictures can be simply put in.
The bookend is fabric (left-over from some black jeans that got shortened ^^), so it's quite flexibel and durable.

And here is the gallery for this wonderful swap on craftster.org - > http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=390637.0
