Bags!

The last two weeks I made some bags from leftover fabric (which I have way to much to use up in a lifetime...).
First I made these two bags. The fabric with the rose pattern was given to me by my MIL and I think it fits very well with the green structured fabric.

The next one i made for my MIL as a birthday present :)
For the lining I used this nice patterned fabric.

Sewing bags was really fun since there a many easy patterns out there that one can modify. For example I found this blog posts by Heather from the sewing loft which links to 100 different bag/tote patterns ranging from fast and easy to more advanced bags: http://thesewingloftblog.com/100-free-tote-bag-patterns/

Art Summary of 2016

Hello!
In January 2016 I started a A5 sketchbook. It helped me alot to draw more since I can take it with my on my weekend job and draw when we have downtime. I tried many different styles: cartoony, manga, realistic...original characters, fanart...different techniques aquarels, colored pencils, ink, photoshop....

I also did my first inktober. And I'm so proud that I managed to draw everday of october!  Whoohoo~ And it was so much fun.

Sometimes I get super frustrated when things turn out the way I want and want to improve so much faster that I have to remind myself that I do this for fun :p

Here is a little art summary I did two weeks ago, where you can see a tiny bit of improvement.

Let's see if I can draw even more in 2017 =D

Bunny circus paintings

One of my new year resolution was to draw more. When I was still in school I drew and doodled all the time, but as I grew older I drew less and less and kind of regret it.

I found a thick A5 sketch book and my goal was to use every single piece of paper in it till the end of the year. So far it's working great to keep me motivated and I have to get another book soon =D

Here are three pieces with the theme "bunny circus" that were really fun to do :3

Plushies - pink bunnies and dog toy

Sorry, I've neglected this blog for month now. I wasn't even that lazy and actually have a few things to show.

First two plush bunnies that I gave away as little easter presents.

And a plush bone. I made another one for a collegue ...well both dogs loved them =D I sewed on lines on the bones to give them some structure and make them more durable.

Cherry stone pillows

I love cherry stone pillows. You can warm them up in the microwave, perfect fot the winter time or to help easing stomach or back pain.

I made a bunch of them for family and friends as christmas presents. They are cheap and easy to do and a great way to use up left over fabric!

Here a few that I made the last weeks. A cat shaped one.

 A big green one.
Made from an old torn jeans.
And the one I made for my mom!

Paper bird decoration

I really neglected this blog again. This year was so busy with work that I found very little time to craft or draw....and even less to post stuff on this blog.

Here is a  fast little project.... and it's cheap, too!: Paper birds! I made them to put on our chrismas tree, but they a a nice decoration for any season :)

In a smaller version they were also nice nametags on our christmas presents.

The base is thick paper/card stock and the wings are made from newspaper articles :D

Fabric baskets

Inspired by a basket my brother showed me.

This was my first one that turned out a bit to high.

The next two were made from an old torn up jeans. Now we keep our keys in the small one.

And since I wanted some green ones....

There are easy and fun projects. They are also very practical if you are like me and have stuff lying around everywhere and being incredibly annoyed by it :D

Simple tote bag

Here is a simple bag I made this month. It was super easy to make and a good way to use up some left-over fabric.

I want to do some more to give away as presents :)

Rainbox Jellyfish fabric Bookmark

I made this bookmark because I wanted to do an easy stitching project, but I learned again that I have no patient for stitching :p

I'm posting my bookmark anyway, even though it's very uneven and turned out totally different than I had planed. I hope the next ones will turn out better!

Moon Jump Bunny

Already march....my resolution for this year was (again) to do more crafting and joined the 50 projects in 2015 craft along . So far I'm doing...okay. Work is so stressfull, I have barely time for myself, let alone for creativity.

The only drawing I managed so far was this little piece.

Looks like a ninja bunny =D

Christmas Cards

It's a bit late, but the last days have been very busy so I just wanted to show you the Christmas Cards I made this year before I'm off to work again.

First I made these snowman cards. They were really simple to make. I based them on an old card my mom had made years again and changed the design of the snowman.
I also made the elk cards from last year again. This time I made two of them with the elk not glued to the card but tucked in so that the elk can be used as a christmas tree decoration or the like. I forgot to make photos of them before I gave them away. Christmas was just too hectic :p
So here is a normal one simply glued to the card.

Christmas Cookies

I was so sad when it was so close to christmas and I still hadn't found the time to do some baking or crafting. Work was so exhausting this year, I started to work a second job on the weekends, there were final exams and to top it off we moved into a new apartment. Phew~

But two days before christmas I finally found time to make some cookies!

First I made some Nutella Cookies based on this super easy recipe I found here. It's simply 225 gr Nutella, 120 gr flour and one egg mixed together and then baked for about 7 minutes at 175 °C.
I just used a cheap, no-name version of Nutella which made it taste even better, because it wasn't as sweet as the original.
Ready to be baked!
After cooling off, I finished them with white chocolate coating.

Not so nice to look at...
...but very yummy!

I made a second set of cookies based on stuff I had at home. Mainly cereals, butter, sugar, flour....The first batch didn't turn out right, but the second ones were perfect!

Sadly we couldn't get to eat much of them, because we gave most of them away as little presents (forgot to make photos...)

Tags for Christmas Presents

Every christmas at least one person in my family has the problem of not knowing anymore which present belongs to which person once they are wrapped. To avoid this problem I drew some cute little pictures and colored them with aquarels so make some tags to add to the presents.

While they were good use to me, most peole didn't even notice them :(

Well at least I finally got to use my aquarells again!

Mini amigurumi doll

This year was the most busy year I've ever had. I moved into a new apartment, work has been extremely busy as well.
I used to spend so much time online and this year real life got in the way....which is awesome, I guess :D

Which is more sad is, that I couldn't find time to craft, too...but paying the rent and housework is more important. Isn't it sad to be an adult? ;)

Still I have something litle to show. My crocheting skills have become really rusty...so I apologize in advance for the outcome.
Well, here's a little amigurumi doll I did for a friend. I promised to make her one months ago (I notice a pattern....) and finally finished it.
Without clothes....next time I need to make the neck thinner. But please notice the thumbs up ;)
And with her dress. I wanted to make a Kimono at first, but to sew that tiny made me drive crazy, so I kept it simple.
Thanks for looking

My first try at a rainbow cake

Well...look at my first try at making a rainbowcake. It's decorated with simple sugar icing and some Haribos :)

I made normal dough and  seperated it in different bowls to mix the colors with food coloring. Then I started putting the dough in the spring form, always a few spoonfulls into middle.
That's how it looks. I made the mistake of always adding only two teaspoons...so the lines got very small and after baking looked very faint because they blended together.
Well, I learned from my mistake and I hope next time the cake will turn out better .

Mini-Amigurumi unicorn with sparkly match box home!

Wow...I promised a mirco amigirumi uncorn to a friend like a year ago and finally I finished it!
Actually I can't crochet very well and I'm bad with patterns. I used a newborn guinea pig pattern I found here : http://www.ravely.com/people/Luna1130 and simply changed it in the back and made different ears.

The feet are just little bobbles which makes it way easier. I always find it very difficult to crochet little parts and attach them.
I altered a match box with fabric, buttons, pearls and lots of nail polishand glue. After all this tiny unicorn needs a proper home.
It was really fun to simply mess around with the different materials even though it came out very differnt to what I had planned. The little book was made and bound by my boyfriend and I just glittered it up :D

Another Cherry Stone pillow

Like I wrote in last blogpost, I still had some cherry stones that I wanted to use for a pillow.

This time I wanted a pillow for my neck and shoulders because they are always so tensed from work. I sewed in different sections so that the stones are scattered more evenly.

I also wanted to sew a pillow case since it can easily be washed and I could easily make another cover if I want another color or something.
The back of the cover.
Thanks for looking :)

Cherry Stone Pillow

I totaly forgot to post this pillow I made in January!
Cherry stone pillows are awesome. You heat them up in the microwave and they stay warm and cozy (and smell nice). I searched for one online and they were kinda expensive, so I just bought 1 kg of cherry stones and made one myself.

I still have cherry stones left and plan to make another one :)
